2013 SPRING
MEETING
Gladstone Inn,
Jamestown, ND, Sat., April 20, 2013
Highlights:
- Use Master courtesy runner rule for all levels of play in MSP
and WSP tournaments excluding all championship play/ national
qualifying tournaments
- Lowered the home run rule for men's Rec III and Rec IV
- Approved NDASA Bat affidavit form and penalties that can be
assessed if sticker applied to a bat determined to be illegal is
removed
- Appointed Kelly Hutton and Sue Lachenmeier to Slow Pitch task
force
- Jack Lukes was elected as NDASA Vice President for a 3-year term

2013 WINTER
MEETING

Highlights:
- The Fargo Busch Light, Bismarck-Mandan McQuade & Division I
state will be men's slowpitch Class C national qualifying
tournaments
- More analysis & discussion of the classification process,
including a change the guidelines for classifying rec-level teams
- The women's Rec II state tournaments will no longer be divided
into separate East & West tournaments
- Implementation of the Masters' courtesy runner rule at all
levels of men's & women's slowpitch (excluding championship play &
national qualifying tournaments)

2012 SPRING
MEETING

Highlights:
- Women's Slow Pitch adopted the same
classification guidelines as Men's Slow Pitch at a meeting
earlier in the offseason
- Additional discussion regarding classification, particularly in
regards to the Rec II & IV divisions
- Third game added for Girl's Junior Olympic state tournaments
- Dick Gulmon was reelected as NDASA President for a 3-year term

ADVISORY BOARD

Highlights:
- Announcement that Ryan Wiegel has been named
the new NDASA Tournament Director and Mike Peterson, the Assistant
Tournament Coordinator. Scott Schafer was named the Junior
Olympic Slow Pitch Commissioner.
- Recommendation to adopt a pickup rule for
mens & womens slowpitch state tournaments
- Increase in the umpires fees for state
tournament games to $20 per game.

2010 ADVISORY BOARD

Highlights:
- Announcement of Bill Butterfield as the new
JO fast pitch commissioner
- At least one coach of a girls fast pitch team
playing in a state tournament must be ACE certified
- In Masters Division, players will be allowed
to play both Masters 35 & 50 or 40 & 60 even if the tournament is
played on the same day or weekend.
- Revised the Masters 60 underage player rule
such that a maximum of 4 underage players mat participate on one
team, of which only two can be 58 years old.
- In state tournaments with mandatory two
umpire system in Men's division I, II & III and Women's C & D, the
entry fee for state tournaments will be raised to $150. The fee
increase goes to host city.

2009 ANNUAL MEETING
Civic

Jamestown, ND, Sat., April 25, 2009
Highlights:
- Due to the flooding conditions throughout ND,
the deadlines for submitting team registrations and rosters have
been pushed back to May 29th and June 8th respectively
- The winners of the Mens Division 1, Division
2 and Division 3 state tournaments will earn a bid to the national
tournament of each team's classification (previously, a specific bid
was assigned to each division)
- Elimination of the permission slip needed to
use a third pickup player in an invitational tournament

2009
ADVISORY BOARD

Highlights:
- Adopted the national rule of batters starting
with a 1-1 count with NO courtesy foul (exceptions: Mens
Masters and Junior Olympics)
- Adopted the new national home run rule except
in the Rec divisions....Mens: B = 6, C = 4, D = 2, Rec = 2;
Womens: C = 4, D = 2, Rec = 2; Masters 35 & 40 = 4, 50
& 60 = 3
- Reinforced pickup players rule stating that
teams may pick up players of a classification up to the highest
classification of the division of the tournament they are playing
in.
- The optic yellow ball will be mandatory
beginning in the 2010 season
- The Masters 35 and Masters 40 state
tournaments will now be held on different weekends, allowing for
eligible players to compete in both.
- Announced formation and details of the
Masters 60 classification
- NDASA will be buying a bat compression
testing machine
- Announced new national classification of E/Rec
with a national tournament on Labor Day weekend in Topeka KS

2008 ANNUAL MEETING

Highlights:
- No changes were made to the Division I,
Division II and Division III state tournament format implemented in
2007.
- Teams that challenged up for state
tournaments must remain in that classification for the next year if
they won or two or more games in the state tournament.
- MSC to change roster maximum to 20 players
for all Men's Slow Pitch
- MSC to change the state tournament format for
Rec I to double elimination
- Recommendation made for more central location
for Women's Slow Pitch state tournaments
- Coed state tournament could be rotated
between Fargo and Grand Forks
- Proposal to break out Men's Fast Pitch state
tournament into two separate state tourneys
- Pitching box adopted for Masters 50
- Dick Gulmon re-elected as President for a
three-year term

(August 28-31)
- Men's Slow Pitch, 40 & Over - Minot (Dates
TBA, 2009)
- Fargo to host Coed state tournament again in
2008
- In case of a rainout of state tournament, if
a team plays one game, they will receive half of their fee back. If
a team plays two games, no refund will be made.
- Allow players to play in any association
within North Dakota, not just their local association of league
- When teams challenge up for Men's Slow Pitch
state tournaments, if they win 2 or more games, they would stay that
classification until the next classification meeting. Forfeits do
not count as a win
